What we collect when you use the portal
When you sign in to the Pet Parent Portal, we collect your email address (the sole sign-in identifier), your name and phone number (if you provide them), pet profile information you enter (name, breed, feeding, medical, behavior, emergency contacts), and the content of messages you exchange with your sitter through the portal.
Magic-link authentication
We use passwordless magic-link sign-in. We do not store or have access to any password for your account. Anyone with access to your email inbox can sign in to your portal account; please secure your email accordingly.
Payment information
All card payments are processed by Stripe (https://stripe.com), our payment processor. Ruh-Roh Retreat does not see, receive, or store your full card number, CVV, or any sensitive cardholder data. When you opt to save a card for future bookings, we store only the card brand (e.g. Visa), the last four digits, and the expiration month and year so we can show it back to you on the portal. We also store the Stripe customer reference identifier so that Stripe can match your saved payment method during repeat checkout.
SMS notifications
If you provide a phone number, we may send you SMS notifications when your sitter messages you through the portal. SMS messages are sent via Twilio. The SMS contains a short alert with a link back to the portal — it does not include the content of the message. You can opt out of marketing SMS at any time by replying STOP to any message you receive from us.
Your data rights
California residents (and other residents with similar rights) may request access to, correction of, or deletion of their personal information. To make a request, email hello@ruhrohretreat.com with the subject line "Data Request". We will respond within 45 days. Bookings and transaction records may be retained as required for tax, accounting, and legal compliance.
